SHERMIN KRUSE - Secretary Shermin Kruse graduated cum laude from University of Michigan Law School and has practiced complex commercial litigation for six years at the law firm of Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg, representing large corporations such as Shell Oil Co., Louis Vuitton, and Moet Hennessey. She has previous leadership experience in the not-for-profit arena as a director of the Lincoln Park Community Shelter, where she has served for four years and continues to serve.  She is a recognized advocate of gender equality rights, and participated in a global symposium on gender equality held in Zurich in July, 2007.  Ms. Kruse has also held leadership roles in a number of other not-for-profit or pro-bono entities or engagements, such pro-bono counsel of asylum candidates, and pro-bono counsel in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She was born in Iran and is fluent in Farsi.
